CHULA VISTA –Club Tijuana’s Xolos Academy FC held its first tryouts of the week Monday at Hilltop High. Coaches from the Academy took dozens of athletes through several drills and exercises.
The tryouts began with the boys Under-7 to Under-11 categories as players practiced some ball control drills, shooting and even played in a short scrimmage. The goalkeepers worked separately, going through some drills of their own.
The second part of the tryouts was for the boys Under-12 to Under-14 category. Tyrouts will continue Wednesday Jan. 28 for the same age groups. More tryouts will be open next week.
