SAN DIEGO –Club Tijuana’s Xolos Academy FC is joining the organization’s efforts in being close to the community. The academy is showing its support for the Miracle Babies Foundation as it helps promote its upcoming 5K Walk/Run in San Diego.
A group of academy players accompanied Miracle Babies representatives Saturday for an on air appearance on KUSI morning news to promote the Walk and Run.
Academy kids dribbled, shot and went through drills while Club Tijuana reps and Miracle Babies personnel spoke on camera about the Club Tijuana and Miracle Babies partnership. The Xoloitzcuintles fully support Miracle Babies efforts to help families with premature babies in the NICU (Neotatal Intensive Care Unit). Miracle Babies helps local families with financial, health and nutritional assistance.
Xolos Academy FC coaches Luis Guerra and Matt Emmert were present to lead the young group of soccer players during the KUSI morning news segment. KUSI news anchor Elizabth Alvarez led the segment, interviewing some of the academy players and participated in taking some shots on goal as well.
The Miracle Babies 5K Walk/Run is slated for Sunday May 3 at the Embarcadero Marina South behind the San Diego Convention Center.
