CLUB TIJUANA OFFERS GOALKEEPERS SCHOOL AT HILLTOP HIGH

CHULA VISTA –Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente encourages those who want to be standout goalkeepers and some day reach the professional level to attend the professional goalkeeper school.

 

Classes are held at Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, Calif. where students will be taken through a curriculum that best fits their skills and sets them on a path to success as a goalkeeper at all levels of play. The idea behind the program is to help boys and girls develop the necessary skills to become a great goalkeeper.

 

Coach Carlo Rodriguez heads the school and he brings a rich background and experience in goalkeeping. Coach has a program designed to help goalkeepers with their overall game. That includes field positioning, angles, ball striking and reading an offense while directing a defense.

 

The program is designed to help players of all ages develop into a goalkeeper that can possibly become part of Club Tijuana’s youth reserves teams known as “Fuerzas Basicas.” Coach Rodriguez can help build a great goalkeeper. His experience includes teaching at the Universidad de Chile, trained several Mexican First Division goalkeepers, coached academies in Omaha, Nebraska, in San Gabriel and Anaheim California.

 

Classes and training sessions are held Monday 4:30 to 6 p.m. for beginners and 6:3o to 7:30 for advanced goalkeepers.
